Welcome to my Blog! I have set this up to document what I went through as an adopted person in Scotland. Before i begin however, I want to make a few things clear. 1. I am only going to be explaining what I went through, this is not a reflection of the adoption service in Scotland or the UK as a whole. (The systems are fairly similar). 2. I am not going to be using real names and locations. In fact, where possible I will not use them at all. this is to protect both myself and anyone else who is involved in this experience. 3. I realise that I was extremely lucky throughout my entire process. This will not be the same for everyone and so please don't think I am painting this with rose tinted glasses. I feel there is a slight stigma in the UK about Adoption and I want to create i place for people to come and discuss experiences and hopefully help both Adopters and Adoptees.
